Life is never, never dull with little ones around. With a diabetic, hearing-impaired eight year old and a sitting-still-impaired : ) six-year-old, life is always lively and full of surprises. Here is a taste:
Several weeks ago, we were on the way home from somewhere and had some candy in the van, which the kids wanted. I told them everyone had to wait until we got home and checked Grace's sugar to see if she could have a little. After a while I pretty much forgot about the candy. But Isaiah didn't (of course). Almost as soon as we got home, as I was settling in and probably putting things away, I noticed Isaiah, perched up on a bar stool at the island, with Grace's sugar testing gear all unzipped, loaded with a test strip and ready to use. "Grace," he called out with all seriousness and not much patience, "we need some blood here!"
About a week ago, Virus Number Two of Winter 2008-2009 was finally waning in its assault on my children, but I was still in the mode of trying to find the thermometer and take another temperature. I'd just found it and was washing it off at the kitchen sink, which did not escape Isaiah's notice. Isaiah: "Mom, it's already clean. I put it in the dog's mouth, but then I washed it really well."
Last night: Grace: "Is Jesus really the King of the Jewels?" (And yes, Dear, He really is.)

It's okay. It's fun to get comments. Even if my blog has to trick you into posting them!
